Mail Delivery

Currently linxus is not setup to allow local mail and this will be avoided if possible. Cron-apt is no longer being used so the requirement for a local mail delivery agent is no longer present.

When setting up a Linux server it is often necessary to enable local mail delivery so services such as cron can inform the system administrator of any problems that have occured. The linxus machines have been configured with postfix installed for local mail delivery only. Mail for local users is delivered and messages can be sent to users on engmail but it will not accept connections from other machines. This is the recommended configuration for any machine with cron-apt installed.
