Several units are responsible for supporting Engineering students with their PD course requirements. Please review the list below to find out who can be of assistance to you. If you aren’t sure who to contact, get in touch with the WatPD-Engineering office by phone or email, and we'll do our best to help.

Undergraduate Academic Advisor

  • responsible for following your academic progress; this is your primary contact
  • able to grant exceptions to standard PD course enrolment including permission to take two PD courses in one term, to drop a PD course due to extenuating circumstances, to take a PD course during an upper-year academic term, etc.
  • automatically enrols students in PD courses for their first and second work terms
  • contact your undergraduate academic advisor or program coordinator for program-specific enquiries

WatPD

  • responsible for the implementation and delivery of all PD courses
  • provides general course advice and can refer you to other advisors as necessary
  • able to grant permission for exceptions to PD course delivery including extensions for assignments
  • resolves technical issues with the learning managament system
  • makes special arrangements for students on a work term without high-speed internet access
  • identifies issues of academic integrity
  • email watpd@uwaterloo.ca with any general questions about PD courses

WatPD-Engineering

  • responsible for the specification of course and program content
  • gives general program advice and can refer you to other advisors as necessary
  • grants permission for mature students with significant workplace experience to challenge for credit in PD 20 and PD 21
  • advises and resolves disputes and advises on issues of academic integrity
  • coordinates, reviews, and acts on feedback from students, instructors, and alumni advisors to maintain the objectives and effectiveness of the program
  • email watpd-eng@uwaterloo.ca with any questions about the WatPD-Engineering program

Co-operative Education & Career Services

  • student advisors can help channel feedback to WatPD-Engineering and refer you to other advisors as necessary
