I am
the Principle Investigate of the following research projects:
Network
Survivability and Availability Analysis (With Bell Canada and NSERC)
The project is mainly on the design and
development of novel spare capacity allocation schemes that
can achieve network survivability and E2E
availability-guarantee for each connection in WDM and IP/MPLS
networks.
Research Partners:
Dr. Janos Tapolcai, Mr.

IEEE 802.16 (Wimax)
and Wireless Network Security (with SparekMatrix, NSERC, and
OCE)
IEEE 802.16 networks (Wimax)
have been one of the most promising approaches that can
integrate the various wireless telecommunication technologies
and provide integrated broadband wireless services (up to 150
Mpbs and 50 miles). It has the potential to replace the "last
mile" of an IP core and is expected to provide the end users
with guaranteed QoS.
This project looks into
the issues of architecture design, channel scheduling,
admission control and routing on the four types of provisioned
services: UGS, rtPS, nrtPS, and Best effort supported in Wimax.
We are particularly interested in the mesh/relay architecture
defined in IEEE 802.16j, where relay stations are deployed for
extend the coverage of a base station and to improve the total
throughput.
